Noble Chuck Rager is a person that is not afraid of rolling his sleeves up and getting the job done, no matter the size. Born in northern Pennsylvania, Chuck grew up on a farm near Landisburg, just north of Carlisle. Most people know that a farm life is not easy, but it teaches individuals how to accept responsibilities and how to work.
Chuck attended Green Park Union High School located in Green Park, with Carlisle being the nearest large town. He graduated with and married his high school sweetheart, Pat. After Chuck served a term in the U.S. Army, Pat and he moved to Georgia in 1966, with their two small sons, Charles, Jr. and Jeffrey. At that time, they settled in the Morrow/Jonesboro area, where they continue to live, today. They are active members in the Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Stockbridge. In their spare time, Chuck and Pat enjoying spoiling their grandchildren, Charles III, Joshua, and Ellen. They enjoy traveling and have traveled worldwide.
Chuck received a BBA degree from Mercer University with a major in management. He worked for the Federal Aviation administration (FAA), as Implementation Manager for the PAMRI portion of the Advanced Automation System, and retired in 1994. He then started his own business, Prime Environmental Testing. The main focus of the business is testing indoor air quality, and Chuck continues to manage the business today.
Chuck received his Masonic degrees at Rex Lodge #251, where he is still an active member. He is also a charter member of the Charity Daylight Lodge #754 which meets at Yaarab Shrine. He belongs to the Scottish Rite body of Masonry. He joined Yaarab Shrine in 1973 and joined the Arab Guard Unit, serving as president of the unit in 2002. Being an avid golfer, Chuck became a member of the Yaarab Golf Association. He served as president in 1982. In fact, he is called, “Mr. Golf†by his peers.
Having to work hard while growing up, built a motivation factor in Chuck to never turn down jobs. Since he joined in 1973, he has been an active member in Yaarab Shrine, having served in the following positions: Membership Chairman, Chairman for Membership Recruitment, serving on the Retention Committee for a term of six years, Imperial Representative for Membership two years and Hospital Crusade Golf Tournament Chairman for two Potentates.
Chuck’s Masonic background made a lasting impression on his sons. Charles Jr. and Jeffrey both followed in his Masonic foot paths and are both members of Yaarab Shrine. Charles, Jr. is currently president of Yaarab’s Arab Guard, and his wife Darin is president of the Karinats, the ladies organization of the Arab Guard. Son Jeffrey is also a member of Yaarab Shrine, but he, wife, Leslie, and daughter Ellen, reside in The Twin Cities area of Minnesota. However, Jeffrey does manage to make the trip to Helen to participate in the golf tournament.
One can classify Chuck as a quiet, compassionate type of guy. However, he is motivated and dedicated to do any job and will do it well. Yaarab Nobility elected Chuck to the office of Yaarab Treasurer for 2007, during the annual election, January 13. With his business background and experience, Chuck should prove to be ready to take on the responsibilities of this job, and those future positions on the road to the office of Potentate.
One P, S. note: Pat has had a “hole in oneâ€, but Chuck is still trying!! Chuck’s desire and motivation will make this happen, as will his success in filling future Divan positions.
