Message from the Potentate |
Greeting Nobles and Ladies of Yaarab Shrine,
The 79th Yaarab Shrine Circus is off to a great start. I see all the nobles working to make this the best Circus ever. Please make plans to come to the new location of our Circus at Cumming Fairgrounds. This is the first new venue for us in over 35 years. The dates for this year’s Circus are May 21-31, 2021. This year we have the midway fair by Wade Shows, the Circus performances will be done by Royal Hanneford Circus. Pig races and wood carvers are also back with us once again. We are also pleased to have Johnny Rocket Cycle Show, back with us, which features the number one Cyclist in the world, Adam Jones. Many vendors will be there, and if you know of a vendor that would be interested in coming to the Circus and Fair, please let our Vendor team know. The Circus is made possible by the tremendous efforts that you, the nobles and ladies do to raise money. Selling ads, sponsors, super passes, and collecting bucket money is going great. Of course, we will also have the Sportsmen’s Raffle, this summer. Sales are going great and are up. The enthusiasm seems to grow every day for all fundraising activities. Thank you, nobles. A special thank you to our Circus Pre-sales team, led by noble Jim Nelson, for being open and available to help any noble with questions. The Circus rewards are here and ready for pick-up in the Business Office for all those who have raised $1,000 or more. We have some BRIGHT orange shirts for the Thousandaires, a restaurant quality steak knife set for $2,500 level, a hunter green jacket for the $4,000 level, and a foldable MAC wagon for the $7,500 level. There will be a special gift presented to all those who raise $15,000. After our all-new Circus, we have the following events planned:
Now that COVID seems to be waning and the vaccination rate is up, I hope many of you will make plans to join us at these events. Watch your Basharat for details. Thank all of you that have been supportive during the first part of this year. It has gotten off to a slow start, but we have great hopes that everyone will re-engage, giving Yaarab the opportunity to continue to be the number one Shrine Center in Shrinedom. You play an important role in the success of our temple, our international fraternity, and Shriners Hospitals for Children. As a Shriner of Yaarab Shrine, you have the opportunity to contribute your personal strengths by participating in temple activities, such as our annual shrine circus, nobility ball, hospital kickoff and not to mention the activities that your unit/club conducts. A reminder on our membership fee schedule. This fee schedule brings us in line with bylaws for membership fees. A pro-rated amount paid by candidates for initiation will be charged as follows:

2016 Change in Yaarab Dues |
If your dues amount prior to 2016 were $100, they will now be $115. If your dues amount were $20, they will now be $35. The increase was due to a per capita increase of $15 voted on at the Imperial Session held in July, 2015. All other dues amounts, please call the business office (404-872-5818 ext 222).

nON-pAYMENT OF Dues RULE |
A rule change for membership dues in 2015 requires suspensions for non-payment of dues after one year. Per Shriner’s International, Yaarab Shire is unable to carry a member into 2018 that owes a 2017 balance. As a result of this change, those that have not paid their 2017 Yaarab dues are suspended on December 31, 2017.
Section 2.11 Suspension for nonpayment of dues: a) A member who is more than 1 year in arrears shall be suspended or his dues remitted. b) Whenever adopted, any order of suspension shall be effective as of December 31 of the year of delinquency |
